Error during file upload - Why am I unable to upload my PDF file?

Occasionally the server refuses to accept an upload even if the file has the right structure and size. Please observe the following recommendations.

  • Use a filename without spaces or special characters.
  • Try to upload using Microsoft Internet Explorer as a browser.



I forgot my password - What should I do?

1) Visit the website www.tu-ilmenau.de/apply

2) Request a new password by clicking on the “Forgot password” button.

3) After 5 minutes you will receive an email at the address specified by you with the subject line “Forgot password?”. Please click on the activation link contained in this message.

4) 5 minutes later you will receive another email with the subject line “Change password” containing a one time password.

ATTENTION: As soon as you click on the activation link in the email with the subject line “Forgot password?”, only the one time password is valid. Your user name stays the same.

5) Logging in to the applicant portal using the one time password from the e-mail with the subject line “Change password”, you are requested to change your password. Enter the one time password as the "old password".



Overall status - What is the meaning of status characteristics?

The overall status offers the opportunity to assess the progress of his application and, if necessary, to initiate own actions.

A1 Request for payment

Provision of PDF documents in the applicant portal

Application for admission (no action on behalf of the applicant required in this status

Request for payment (please undertake payment promptly)

A2 Payment received

Receipt of payment of the administration fee. The application will now be processed by the admissions officer.

A3 Proceeding stopped

No payment of the administration fee could be determined.

B1 Documents incomplete

Documents missing or uploaded documents cannot be evaluated.
Please refer to the notes of the admissions officer in the checklist.

Application documents are complete and correct.

B3 Checking documents

Documents are processed by the admissions officer.

B4 Post receipt incomplete

C Aptitude test initiated

For Master courses with an aptitude test the application documents were sent to the department.

C1 Decision prepared

For master applications with professional aptitude test the electronic application documents are now available in the department.

D Aptitude test completed
